Human resource development center

The Human resource deelopment center /HRDC/ is the institution that has been connecting Bulgarian education, training and youth initiatives with European development opportunities for more than two decades. Since 1999, the Center has been actively involved in the management of European educational programs, and today it is the National Agency of Bulgaria for the Erasmus+ Program and the European Solidarity Corps Program.

Today, the role of the HRD goes far beyond the administrative management of programs. The Center informs, consults and supports applicants and beneficiaries, assists in the quality implementation of projects and turns good practices into a real resource for the development of the educational, training and youth community in Bulgaria. This is also evident from the active training, information events, monitoring and national initiatives that the HRD organizes in different parts of the country.

In the period 2021–2027, the HRDC works within the framework of a stronger, more open and more modern European program.Erasmus+ supports education, training, youth and sport with a budget of €26.2 billion and places a clear emphasis on inclusion and diversity, digital transformation, sustainable development and active participation in democratic life. In parallel, the European Solidarity Corps Programme encourages young people to engage in quality activities of public benefit, volunteering and active civic engagement.

In addition to managing the main European programmes, the HRDC also develops important accompanying activities and networks such as eTwinning, Europass, Euroguidance, Eurydice, Eurodesk and NaVET. Thus, the Centre supports not only international mobility and partnerships between organisations, but also career guidance, transparency of skills and qualifications, vocational education and training, exchange of innovative practices and access to reliable information on the development of education in Europe.

The HRDC is a place where European policies meet the real needs of people and organisations in Bulgaria. For schools, universities, training centers, youth organizations, municipalities and active citizens, the Center is not just a national agency, but a partner for ideas, opportunities, international exchange and sustainable development.
