AMALIPE is the largest Roma organization that works for better education, community development and equal integration of Roma in Bulgarian society. The name itself shows the organization’s goals and way of working – “Amalipe” is a Romani word meaning “friendship”, i.e. working for Roma integration, we include people of all ethnicities. Roma integration will make Bulgaria a more developed and economically strong country. It will help the better life of all ethnicities and active people of all ethnicities should participate in this process. Therefore, the Amalipe Center unites the efforts of Roma, Bulgarians, Turks and others, guided by the values of inter-ethnic dialogue and tolerance.
Representatives of the Amalipe Center have been elected by the Roma organizations as members of the Monitoring Committees of the operational programs Science and Education for Smart Growth (Education Program), the Partnership Agreement and Human Resources Development. The organization participates in the Board of Directors of TSOIDUEM and in the European Roma Platform. She is a member of the Commission for Innovative Schools at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, and Science, Civic Participation Forum, National Patient Organization, Bulgarian Platform of the European Women’s Lobby and the Coalition for Media Literacy, as well as a number of regional and municipal councils.

The Amalipe Center believes in the equal integration of the Roma into society, based on the preservation of the Roma identity and mutual recognition and solidarity between Bulgarians and Roma.Our mission is to stimulate the modernization and empowerment of the Roma community in Bulgaria for its active participation and equal access to resources and development processes, with a priority focus on access to quality education, quality healthcare and social services.
