On this page you will find key information about the two main national programs managed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the period 2026–2030. They define the state policy for supporting and protecting young people in Bulgaria between the ages of 15 and 29.
- National Youth Program (2026–2030)
The program is a key instrument for implementing a unified youth policy in the country. It finances projects aimed at the personal development of young people and their successful implementation in society.
Main priorities:
Non-formal education: Development of practical skills, digital competence and leadership qualities outside of school and university.
Youth spaces: Sustainable development of the network of youth centers and spaces throughout the country.
Civic activity: Promotion of volunteering, participation in public processes and decision-making.
Social inclusion: Support for disadvantaged youth and from small or isolated settlements. - National Prevention and Awareness Program (2026-20230)
This specialized program aims to protect the physical and mental health of young people by limiting risky behavior and modern addictions.
Main priorities:
Addiction prevention: Information campaigns and activities against the use of psychoactive substances (drugs, alcohol), smoking and gambling addiction.
Healthy lifestyle: Promotion of physical activity, sports, healthy eating and a responsible attitude towards the environment.
Digital safety: Training on recognizing online risks, fake news, cyberbullying and security in social networks.
Mental health and aggression: Prevention of aggression and emotional pressure among young people through methods such as “peers educate peers”.
Who can apply for funding?
Both programs provide grants through annual competitions on set modules. Eligible beneficiaries are:
Associations and foundations (NGOs) registered for public benefit.
Informal youth groups.
Municipalities and local institutions.
