From 22 to 25 June, a Mid Term Evaluation Training for European Solidarity Corps volunteers was held in Sofia. The training was organized by the Human Resource Development Centre and brought together young people from different volunteer projects across Bulgaria. Volunteers from BRCK Association – Dream for Romance, Flowers and Cosmos, part of the E-volution Media project, also took part in the event.
The training gave the participants an opportunity to reflect on their volunteering experience so far — what they have learned, what challenges they have faced, and how they are developing personally and professionally through their projects. Over the course of several days, the volunteers worked in small groups, shared stories from their daily life in Bulgaria, discussed real situations, and explored possible solutions through creative and practical activities.
The programme included poster work, group presentations, discussions about the role of the volunteer, teamwork, communication, intercultural learning, and personal development. The informal and supportive atmosphere encouraged the participants to be open, active, and creative. In this way, the training became not only a space for evaluation, but also a space for exchange, connection, and mutual support between volunteers from different organizations.
The volunteers from E-volution Media shared their experience related to media work, filming, interviews, video production, and storytelling. For them, the training was a valuable opportunity to look back at what they have already achieved, but also to think about the next steps in their project activities.
The Mid Term Evaluation Training is an important stage in the volunteering journey, as it helps participants better understand their progress, recognize the challenges they are facing, and regain motivation for the remaining part of their stay. For the BRCK volunteers, the meeting in Sofia was also a chance to connect with other young people going through similar experiences and to return to their project with new ideas and energy.
E-volution Media continues to develop media activities focused on youth participation, volunteering, cultural exchange, and storytelling through the perspective of young people.
